FOODIE PHOTOS

Got a few hours to kill at the train station before our 3rd overnight train – should have been here at 4.30 pm but now over an hour late – at least that means we will be late getting up in Hanoi as we were due in at 6 am.  You win some and you lose some!  (Damn – train speeded up and got there early!) Anyway, seem to have a lot of foodie photos, which don’t always make it to the travel blogs – so will post a few.

Hue-Royal banquet-002
Posh meal similar to food eaten by Royalty (ie we can charge you an arm and a leg for a set menu – fortunately we didn’t pay the $50 extra to have wailing local music and dress up in tacky “royal” outfits.)

Excellent meal in Hoi An

Market stalls – noodles, fresh herbs, fresh veg – most cooking is with daily fresh veg

And snuck in between rice and noodles – posh French style pastries, bread and donuts + great cappuccino.  Western style food easily found in tourist areas (ie everywhere we have been) so don’t think we live locally all the time!

Street food – looks great  but the washing up facilities (pass through a bowl of dirty water) is the giveaway – DO NOT TOUCH
